According to the site, the Orange Is the New Black actress, 29, took to social media to live Tweet the ordeal in a series of posts that have since been taken down.
"There is a gunman in my back yard (sic). This is petrifying. Helicopters, police, dogs … And a crazy person," she wrote in a Tweet, the site report.
Rose then reportedly followed with an update saying the man had been arrested.
"Man arrested. Wow. Crazy. Annnd now I won’t be watching horror films before bed anymore," she wrote.
The Australian actress also posted a video of the moment police officers arrived at the property. The video has also since been taken down, but a screenshot of the caption as well as the footage itself were captured on the Daily Mail.
"When you're supposed to be on a date with @skrillex but. Something comes up," reads the screenshot of the caption, referring the famous DJ Skrillex.
The actress has created a major buzz since her breakout role on the third season of OITNB.

Rose – who has been outspoken about her gender fluidity – is engaged to Phoebe Dahl (granddaughter of author Roald Dahl) and told PEOPLE in June the two plan to wed "next year."
