Fans expecting to see just a few scenes from the upcoming superhero movie Deadpool received an exciting treat when Deadpool himself Ryan Reynolds, accompanied by wife Blake Lively, not only attended the screening but also showed the entire movie.
Reynolds entered the theater midway through a pre-screening Q&A session to talk about the process of making the movie before offering the superfans a surprise.
"I know we were going to be showing you guys some footage but ... hell, you wanna just see the whole film? Let's just show you the whole movie!" he said, as the crowd went wild.
"Well, that went well," Reynolds captioned a selfie he took with the screening's audience. "Surprising an entire theater full of people with an early screening of #Deadpool."
Lively, who was beaming after the movie's screening, posted the same photo to Instagram, adding an arrow pointing to where she was sitting in the back of the theater.
Reynolds' proud wife wrote, "Who's that babe in the back?! It was my first time seeing the movie tonight-- yes, at the surprise screening for the fans, I mean who do I have to sleep with to get into this movie?! Have to say... Best. Movie. Ever. No joke."
Both Reynolds and Lively also used the clever hashtag "skull emoji, poo emoji, L" to spell out Deadpool using their trademark silly sense of humor.
Fans also took to social media to express their excitement about the screening and the movie itself.
Well, hell, you guys. They went and made an amazingly awesome, fun, exciting #Deadpool movie. It's outstanding.— Lucas Siegel (@LucasSiegel) January 19, 2016
This #deadpool fan's happy. Really fun movie. Overall plot's standard, but consistently strong comedy, fan service & action overshadow that.— Gregg Katzman (@GreggKatzman) January 19, 2016
This is how I just spent my afternoon! OFFICIALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE MARVEL MOVIES OF ALL TIME. SO GOOD! pic.twitter.com/6bMTVusfGi— Nadeshot (@Nadeshot) January 19, 2016
