You almost don't know who deserves more sympathy: Ryan Reynolds, or the horse.

Reynolds, 39, stopped by The Late Late Show with James Corden on Wednesday night, where he discussed his love for cross-country motorcycle trips – and that one ride he'll never forget.

"I've done a couple across the United States, I've done across Australia," he said while sitting between fellow guests Katie Holmes and Judd Apatow. "Recently, I did one that went from St. George, Utah, all the way up to Jackson Hole and that was a beautiful ride."

Reynolds said that during his most recent ride, he found himself in a less than desirable situation when he pulled over for a quick bathroom break.

"We pulled over on the side of the road and it was just this god-awful stench," he explained. "I had to pee, so I just got off the bike and jumped over this little hedge and down into this little ravine."

As soon as the Deadpool star hit the ground, he quickly realized he was deep in a horse carcass.

"I jumped into a dead horse," he said. "Like, up to my knees."

And yes, it was just as terrible as it sounds.

"Some stuff just [doesn't] wash out. I didn't even want to get rid of my pants, I wanted to go to the hospital and have my legs cut off."

Naturally, the actor was beyond scarred from the experience.

"It was a hideous, hideous experience I'll never forget it," he said. "It actually just ruined walking for me."

"That was awful," he added. "That changes you."
