Surfers Ride Massive Waves in California After Hurricane Marie Swell (VIDEO)

The last time there were waves this big, they were in a disaster movie.

But that didn't deter surfers in Southern California's Newport Beach on Wednesday. The National Weather Service had issued a high surf advisory warning of a huge swell from Hurricane Marie that was expected to generate waves of up to 25 feet.

What was intended as a warning was more of an enticement to plenty of local surfers, who headed to the Wedge, a local surf spot, to take advantage of the swell.

And they did, as you can tell from this video, which looks like an outtake from that old Powerade commercial.
