Brace Yourselves: 35 Million Americans Face Heat Advisory Warnings This Weekend

All together, 35 million people are under some sort of heat advisory this weekend – and the thick humidity will only make it worse.
After a relatively mild July on the East Coast, temperatures are set to spike into the high 90s for the rest of this week as we head into August, according to The Weather Channel. Thus far, New York City has only seen five days enter the 90s, but it's possible the city could double that figure just this week.
And for those of you thinking to escape the hellish East Coast heat wave by heading to the opposite side of the country, think again.
Temperatures as far Northwest as Portland, Oregon, will continue to soar into the upper 80s to 90s. This July has already been the hottest on record for Portland, Oregon; Pendleton, Oregon; Seattle and Spokane, Washington.
But it's California where it will be truly scorching. Temperatures there are expected to hit triple digits from Thursday through the weekend.
The rising temperatures on the West Coast have led to wildfires throughout the region. Fires have ripped across Napa Valley, Sacramento County and San Diego County in California, while Glacier National Park in Montana saw a blaze burn more than 3,000 acres of land.
