The wellness expert spoke to PEOPLE during a Saturday workout event benefitting Breast Cancer Research Fund (BCRF) at Miami's swanky Bal Harbour Shops, and said she recently learned that her in-person clientele are not her only famous fans.
"I can actually say that people do my DVDs and they do the streaming – very, very famous people – so much more than I realize," she said. When asked who her favorite surprise devotees were, she exclaimed, "This is going to sound weird because she's not the biggest celebrity, but to me, when Sinead O'Connor emailed that she was doing them, I was like – Yes! I loved her so much growing up, I was like, 'wow.' "
Anderson also learned of a "supreme" new customer: "Yesterday – I got an email that Diana Ross walked into my studio and I was like – no! that's amazing!"
Anderson has a very personal connection to BCRF (an organization that is heralded for donating 91 cents of every dollar raised directly to breast cancer research), as her CEO Maria Baum is on the board of the organization and is a breast cancer survivor herself.
Baum, who organized the event with BCRF Co-Chairman of the Board (and Miami resident) Kinga Lampert, said of the parallel, "The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is so rooted in science. It's all about actually getting to a cure based on the science of it, and that to me is what Tracy does in this realm, so it's all about what really works."
Anderson, who told the crowd, "I believe we can cure cancer in our lifetime," is a big believer in that same connection. "I'm a researcher. I create content only through research. I'm of course thrilled that all these amazing disease preventative researchers and organizations are finally standing up and saying, 'exercise.' "
