Mad Men actor Vincent Kartheiser has put his Hollywood home on the market. But it's not the kind of expansive mansion you'd expect a TV star to own.
For one thing, it's only 603 sq. ft.
But Kartheiser, 35, who plays Pete Campbell on the AMC drama, has made the most of the space at 6512 Lexington Ave. since buying the micro-home in 2003. In fact, it's now so beautifully designed that it was featured in Dwell magazine last year.
The actor, who is engaged to Mad Men costar Alexis Bledel, teamed up with designer and builder Funn Roberts to give the house what Kartheiser calls a "Japanese-industrial" style. It features vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, lots of glass and steel, sliding screens and light boxes that glow – and a bed that can be lifted to the ceiling on a pulley system.
The home, built in 1912, sits on a walled and gated lot of 2,325 sq. ft. A coffee table outside even converts to a fireplace.
And at just $808,000, it's a bargain by Hollywood standards.
