It's not everyday you get to hear Jennifer Garner, one of the quintessential Hollywood moms, string together a bunch of NSFW words.

But her maternal role on- and offscreen is part of what makes her reading of Adam Mansbach and Ricardo Cortés' parody children's book Go the F--- to Sleep for Vanity Fair all the more hilarious.

Since its publication in 2011, Go the F--- to Sleep has been read and recorded by the likes of Samuel L. Jackson and Werner Herzog. But both men have lacked the authentic delivery of a tired mom desperate to get her kids to bed.

WARNING: CONTAINS STRONG LANGUAGE

"The cats nestle close to their kittens, the lambs have lain down with their sheep," Garner reads in a chipper, singsong voice, while lying by the pool. "You're cozy and warm in your bed my dear, now go the f---- to sleep," she pleads with a smile.

In her recent bombshell interview with the magazine, Garner admitted she's had some issues falling asleep herself in the months following her much publicized split with Ben Affleck.

"When I can't sleep – and I am not someone who typically has that problem, but I really have in the last year – and I need something to switch my brain off, it has been Tina Fey and Amy Poehler," she told Vanity Fair.

"God bless those girls. I used to think I would never watch television on my phone, but there I am, because I am sleeping next to my daughter ... I'm happy to have her; she's happy to have me."

Garner said that throughout the split, it's her children, Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Sam, 4 who have helped her persevere.
