Wes Scantlin, singer in the band Puddle of Mudd, was arrested early Sunday by a sheriff's duepty in southern Minnesota, The Associated Press reports.

The singer was arrested after allegedly leading police on a car chase on a rural highway, reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour. After he was caught, the AP reports that police administered a preliminary breath test that registered Scantlin's blood-alcohol level at 0.31 percent – almost four times the legal limit.

Scantlin appeared in court on Monday on a felony charge of fleeing police in a motor vehicle, refusing to submit to a chemical test, and DWI.

The 43-year-old was later released on bail.

According to the Star Tribune, Scantlin had a show over the weekend in Royaltown, a city about 100 miles north of where the incident occurred.
