The cult-favorite characters are back to take on the supernatural in a six-episode reboot of The X-Files set to premiere in 2016, and Fox released a new teaser Thursday on Twitter.
The first glimpse of what we'll see next year doesn't disappoint, complete with strange tools, dead bodies and, of course, the show's classic eerie theme song.
Fans have long awaited the return of the Emmy Award-winning drama. The original show premiered in September 1993 and ran for nine seasons, and there were two X-Files movies – one in 1998 and another in 2008.
David Duchovny, 54, and costar Gillian Anderson, 46, starred as investigators Mulder and Scully, who solve cases involving paranormal phenomena.
"It's going to be strange and fun," Duchovny told PEOPLE of returning to the show. "Thankfully Gillian will be there, and we'll both be in positions of like, 'Are we really here again? Are we really saying those words again?' At least we'll have each other."
