My Favorite Summer Memory
They May Be Famous Now, but as These Pictures from Their Photo Albums Reveal, When Celebs Like Hilary Duff, Fergie and Tyra Banks Were Young, They Spent Those Lazy Days of Summer Much the Same Way as the Rest of Us
AGE 11 AT CAMP LONGHORN IN TEXAS
"I really loved camp. On 'Fun Day,' which happened once a week, you'd be able to slide on the water slide—which was soaked with baby oil! We also had dance night. I miss the camp days!"
AGE 6 AT DISNEYLAND
"When I was 6 years old, my parents took me to Disneyland. It was so much fun! I loved all of the big Disney characters in costume, and my mom made me my personal Mickey hat."
AGE 7 IN LOS ANGELES, CALIF.
"I'd stay with my great-grandmother during the summers and we'd watch soap operas all day. My favorite characters were Luke and Laura [on General Hospital]. And I would also try to play the Young and the Restless theme on her piano. I sounded terrible, but my granny never complained."
AGE 3 (LEFT) IN NEW YORK CITY
"Central Park—pure summer bliss for a New Yorker! Me and my big sister are in our super summer dresses—my mom made mine for me—we've got our shoes off, taking a break from the city. What could be better?"
AGE 3 IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA
"I would hang out with my friends playing hide-and-seek, kickball and cards. I'm reminded of these memories while driving through different neighborhoods and I see little kids doing the same things I used to do."
AGE 8 IN THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF.
"I loved going to the park with my family and playing with my dog Betty. I used to love taking her out to play fetch."
AGE 7 IN ELLISVILLE, MISSISSIPPI
"My favorite thing to do was to walk to the baseball fields with my best friends from the neighborhood and play some ball. We would play until we passed out from the summer heat!"
AGE 27 IN LOS ANGELES, CALIF.
"Going to the beach is how I spent my time in California when I first arrived."
AGE 3 IN OCEAN ISLE BEACH, NORTH CAROLINA
"Every summer my whole family would go down to the beach for the last week of July. I just loved it. I was such a water bug. I'd be covered in freckles, and no amount of sunblock would help me because I would stay out in the sun all day long."
AGE 5 (CENTER, STANDING) IN HIGH POINT, NORTH CAROLINA
"I definitely miss the days of stickball, ice cream trucks and Double Dutch!"
