Reba's Divas
Country's Biggest Stars—Faith! Dolly! Leann!—and Other Admirers Gather to Sing the Praises of Reba McEntire
"I don't think I can sit in this dress!" said the lady in red, Reba McEntire. On Oct. 26, the 51-year-old country legend posed in L.A. with a slew of pals, protégées and A-list admirers who feted McEntire during a two-hour tribute, which will air on CMT Nov. 18. Among those who performed her songs (back row, from left to right): Kelly Clarkson, Faith Hill, LeAnn Rimes, Trisha Yearwood, Wynonna Judd, Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles, Megan Mullally (a Reba fan who sang "You Can't Get a Man with a Gun"); (front row) Dolly Parton, Barbara Mandrell and Martina McBride. "They're my buddies," says McEntire, the first recipient of the CMT Giant title. "It's the biggest compliment to have them get up there and sing." McEntire capped off the night with a show-stopping rendition of "Fancy." Says Hill: "She tore the house down. We were screaming like teenage fans—she put us all to shame."
