It was a joyous evening in any language. On Oct. 28 waiters and patrons at a popular Marrakesh, Morocco, restaurant sang "Happy Birthday" in English, French and Arabic to b-day girl JULIA ROBERTS. The actress, whose drama Charlie Wilson's War is filming in Morocco, rang in her 39th with husband DANNY MODER, 37, and a decadent chocolate cake, which she shared with her fellow diners throughout the restaurant. An onlooker tells Insider, "She seems very close, very affectionate with him."
BORAT'S STARRY SIGHTINGS
The comedy Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan is filled with celebs—at the theater. On Nov. 6 at a dinner hosted by Cosmopolitan at West Hollywood's Il Sole (Grey's Anatomy costars T.R. KNIGHT and KATE WALSH were there, left) to celebrate her December cover, KATHERINE HEIGL told Insider, "I want to go see Borat!" And JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE's idea of a romantic date in Paris with girlfriend CAMERON DIAZ Nov. 6? A private screening of the film at Club d'Etoile where, says an onlooker, "[they] were folded up in laughter."
He won't guest star on FOX's Bones until Dec. 13, but RYAN O'NEAL—who plays a priest (above)!—already has the approval of his costar EMILY DESCHANEL. "He was so kind to everyone on-set," she told Insider. "The director, the stand-ins—he charmed them all!"
SANAA LATHAN (left) has signed on for 12 more episodes on Nip/Tuck. "I keep asking, 'How is it going to end for me? Am I going to die? Am I going to jail?'" said the actress at the Artios Awards in L.A. on Nov. 1. So? "They're not telling!"
At a Sundance Institute fete in New York City Nov. 6, cochair GLENN CLOSE asked celebs to serve cocktails. CLAIRE DANES obliged but accidentally doused fellow servers UMA THURMAN and STANLEY TUCCI. Close laughed it off: "I'd never fire her!"
