Actor-director Jon Favreau and his physician wife, Joya Tillem, welcomed their third child, daughter Brighton Rose Favreau, Aug. 29 in L.A.

After two years of dating, actor-director Emilio Estevez, 44, and writer Sonja Magdevski, 34, are engaged. A wedding date has not been set.

Billionaire Warren Buffett, 76, wed his longtime companion Astrid Menks, 60, in Omaha on Aug. 30, his 76th birthday. The marriage is Buffett's second.

ACCIDENT
Ellen DeGeneres, 48, and girlfriend Portia de Rossi, 33, were involved in an auto accident Sept. 1 in L.A. DeGeneres was driving a Porsche on Sunset Boulevard when her car was hit by a Buick that had been rear-ended by another Porsche behind it. DeGeneres suffered minor back and neck pain. The other Porsche's driver was later charged with drunk driving.

LEGAL MATTERS
Jennifer Aniston has settled the suit she brought against photographer Peter Brandt for taking topless shots of her last year while she was at her home. The actress, 37, had alleged that Brandt invaded her privacy; Brandt claimed he was on a public street. The terms of the agreement were confidential.... Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty avoided a prison sentence Sept. 4 in London. Saying that jail would be "counter-productive" to his rehab right now, and adding that she found the Babyshambles hit "The Blinding" to be "a very good tune," the judge told the rocker his sentencing will be deferred until Dec. 4. Said Doherty: "I just want my life back."

SPLIT
Princess Diana's brother Charles Spencer, 42, and second wife Caroline, 39, a former teacher, have separated after less than five years of marriage. They have two children.

DEATHS
Actor Glenn Ford, whose five-decade career featured roles in such classics as Gilda, The Big Heat and Superman (he played dad to Christopher Reeve's Clark Kent) died Aug. 29 at his L.A. home. He was 90.

ANDRE'S EMOTIONAL ADIEU
On Sept. 3 tennis champ Andre Agassi exited the competitive court for the last time, retiring at the U.S. Open after his 21st consecutive tournament ended in a loss to German Benjamin Becker. The tearful 36-year-old drew a minutes-long standing ovation from the crowd of more than 20,000 at Arthur Ashe Stadium, including his wife, Steffi Graf, 37, and their two children, Jaden, 4, and Jaz, 2. "The scoreboard said I lost today," Agassi said, "but what the scoreboard doesn't say is what I have found.... You have pulled for me on the court and also in life. I found inspiration."
