Jimmy Kimmel

The 38-year-old comedian celebrates his third year as ABC's late-night host with a prime-time special, Jimmy Kimmel Live's All-Star Salute to Jimmy Kimmel Live!, airing Sept. 13. Kimmel has the gig until at least 2008, and he'll be the host of a new ABC game show, Set for Life.

ON GETTING SOME RESPECT There is some validation when you've been on this long. Everything gets easier—the [guest] booking gets easier because people are, like, "maybe this guy is going to be around a while, and it's good to play nice." We didn't necessarily have that when we started the show.

ON HIRING HIS UNCLE FRANK FOR COMEDY BITS It makes it more fun, but I don't know if it helps. My Uncle Frank does nothing but slow everything down. I'm not looking to bring any more family members on board. In fact I'm firing people at Christmas.

ON HOW HE SPENDS HIS DOWN TIME This Sunday, for my daughter Katharine's 15th birthday, we went to the beach for the whole day. I don't do much sleeping, but I do always make sure to cover those bases.

ON THE LONG RUN I don't know—it never stops, we don't have seasons. Now I'm hosting a game show. The longer you do a job, theoretically the better you get. Hopefully I'll look at the show another three years from now and go, "My God, what were we doing?"
