Behind the Seams
BUCKLE UP: Legendary shoe designer Roger Vivier's newly launched eyewear line already has a gaggle of A-list fans. Uma Thurman, Scarlett Johansson and Sandra Bullock are among the shady ladies who've been photographed in a buckle-accented pair....

STELLAR VINTAGE: "I like my guests to feel completely comfortable," says Rona Stevenson of her celeb-magnet L.A. vintage boutique Coquette. "I buy all kinds of snacks, candy, wine." But the amenities are secondary for stars like Charlize Theron, Nelly Furtado and Christina Aguilera, who have all scored red-carpet pieces at the appointment-only shop. Luckily, the store just launched a Web site, so now mere mortals can buy Stevenson's designer pieces. Candy not included....

DESIGNING DIVAS
BACK-STAGE PASS
It was a family affair as Beyoncé and mother Tina Knowles celebrated the latest collection of their House of Deréon line with its first-ever fashion show Sept. 29 in Chicago. The creative duo sat down with PEOPLE to talk shop.
Beyoncé, you have a new CD, you're presenting your first runway show, and you're starring in the upcoming Dreamgirls. How do you find time for everything?
This year has been overwhelming. But when I'm doing fashion I'm focused only on that, and when I'm touring I'm focused only on that, and when I did the movie I focused only on that. That's the only way I could stay sane.
What type of woman are you designing for?
Tina: Several women. There's such an age difference between Beyoncé and myself, but we're both wearing the clothes. We wanted to make the clothes fit well and there's something for everyone.
What is different about this new collection?
Tina: We have more suits and tailored looks—more of a Victorian flair.
Whose style do you admire?
Beyoncé: Brigitte Bardot, Audrey Hepburn and Diahann Carroll. Modern day: Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett.

Brooch
"This brooch is extremely rare—ones with flowers are much more common," says Fred Leighton's Rebecca Selva of the early 19th-century piece featuring 15 carats of diamonds on silver and gold. "This is a regal piece that women would have worn in their hair as they often did with feathers."

Earrings
"Sofia was mesmerized by these earrings," recalls Selva of the 18th-century, 25-carat diamond pieces, which were sold to a private collector after the film wrapped.
Necklace
"That's a necklace a very young woman would wear," says Selva of the 95-carat pink topaz-and-gold showpiece. "It's early 19th century and a color that was very much of the period if you look at paintings that depict Marie Antoinette."

The Jewels
Playing the doomed teen queen in the upcoming film, Kirsten Dunst donned nearly $4 million worth of gems
In a movie filled with fashionable excess, it's only natural that the jewelry be over the top. Not that Marie Antoinette star Kirsten Dunst had a problem with that. "I couldn't wear fake diamonds," she says. "I was playing Marie Antoinette!" Luckily, jewelry house Fred Leighton was more than happy to oblige, exclusively providing all the precious pieces for the production. "This was very much what women of the court would have worn," says Fred Leighton's Rebecca Selva. With a few tweaks, of course. "We took certain licenses," says MA director Sofia Coppola. "I wanted to capture the palette of a teenager. Bright turquoise and pink candy colors." Here's a look at some of the glitziest pieces.
