RACHAEL RAY

"I'm addicted to Rachael Ray's show. She has a personality that bursts through the TV screen"
Marcy Quayle

Rachael Ray is a breath of fresh air. I admire her work ethic, her decision to be child-free and, most of all, her passion for what she does.

After reading your article on TV chef Rachael Ray, I have newfound respect for her. She seems extremely down-to-earth and comfortable in her own skin. I applaud her for speaking her mind and for her honesty about not wanting kids. Thanks for sharing this unique woman with us.

Has Rachael Ray actually ever made a meal that was creative and interesting? Only in America could a no-talent like Rachael Ray make millions of dollars being the most annoying person on television. What could possibly make you think this woman is interesting?

ZHOU LIN

Your story on the rescue and adoption of Chinese burn victim Zhou Lin demonstrates the tremendous support many individuals and organizations contributed to enable this courageous young girl to receive life-changing medical care. I'd like to add one group that was overlooked. Hospitality Homes provides housing for people from all over the world who come to Boston for medical care. Zhou Lin, her mother, her translator and Brecken Schwartz were guests of our program for four months in 2006. Over 130 families in the Boston area open their homes so that people like Zhou Lin can receive specialized treatment and have their families by their side. Every one of these hosts is, indeed, a Hero Among Us.

BRITNEY SPEARS

Britney may have a svelte new bod, but it's difficult to tell with the tacky outfit she's wearing. Could someone take up a collection for this girl? She's got holes in her fishnet stockings; apparently she can't afford new ones.

QUEEN ELIZABETH

Thank you for running photographer Annie Leibovitz's lovely portrait of Queen Elizabeth. I sat and looked at her photograph and thought of all that she has done for her country over the past 55 years. What a wonderful woman. Beauty has no age, and your picture shows that.

CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE
Our story about the damage done to children in bitter custody battles such as the one being waged between Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger over their daughter Ireland elicited stern advice from one reader. "I have two words for all such parents," writes Christine Northrop of Story City, Iowa. "Grow up. Just because you failed at marriage doesn't mean you should fail at parenting, too. Give your child a chance to love, trust and respect you both and to build successful relationships of her own." Another reader sounded off about "parental alienation syndrome." "Many times the noncustodial parent is made to look like the 'bad guy', when it's the custodial parent who makes it seem that way by manipulation and lies," writes Claudia Fahey of Hurlock, Md. "This drives a wedge between children and a parent they might see only every other weekend as it is."

In our April 23 issue, we misspelled country singer Eddie Rabbitt's last name. In our May 14 issue, we stated that the finale of the CW series Supernatural would air on May 8. It aired May 10. In our May 21 issue, we reported that Martha Stewart spent five months in a Virginia prison; Stewart was jailed in West Virginia.
