Not every former host of The View kicked up controversy last week: On May 26, Lisa Ling (now a correspondent for Oprah and the National Geographic Channel) married radiation oncologist Paul Song in a colorful outdoor ceremony at L.A.'s historic Union Station. In keeping with her Chinese heritage and the wedding's Asian chic vibe, Ling, 33, wore a scarlet Vivienne Tam dress. Many of the 550 guests—who included Connie Chung (Ling's journalism mentor), Numb3rs star Diane Farr and actress Kelly Hu—showed up in their versions of the theme. Farr and her husband, Seung Chung, a marketing executive pal of Song's, got so into the spirit of the night, they had their own mini fashion show earlier that day. "We came with a whole crew, so my husband went shopping in Chinatown and bought 10 outfits—everything from dresses to pajamas," says Farr. "Then we had a dress-up party at my house."

Just months after Ling started dating Song, 41 (the pair met through mutual friends in 2006), he flew both of their families to Chicago for a surprise proposal party in a private dining room of the restaurant Charlie Trotter's. Now the couple are discussing plans to relocate from the Windy City, though they haven't decided where—but friends say a move will be good for Ling. "I hope my desire to travel so much isn't forever," she told PEOPLE in 2003. "It's not the most conducive lifestyle for a relationship or a family, by any means." In lieu of a honeymoon, the couple will spend time with family and friends in L.A. and Chicago. What better way to continue the festive wedding vibe? Says Farr of the evening: "It was great!"
