ROMANCE HEATS UP
Less than two weeks after Jennifer Aniston and British model Paul Sculfor shared a cozy dinner date at Santa Monica's Shutters Hotel on the Beach, the couple returned to the beachside resort for a second splash of romance June 10. The pair also spent time that weekend holed up in Aniston's Malibu manse. (When Sculfor, 36, ducked out June 10, he was clutching a bottle of Smartwater—the brand Aniston endorses.) Just don't think Aniston is Sculfor's only famous friend. On June 9, he met up with Victoria Beckham (and her reality show camera crew) for drinks at the Saddle Ranch Chop House in West Hollywood. Playing hard to get? Nah. Turns out Sculfor once dated makeup artist Maria-Louise Featherstone, a longtime Beckham pal. And Featherstone still gives Aniston's new flame high marks, telling Scoop, "He's a good person."
'I'M MAD AS HELL'
It was the cut heard round the world: Following months of speculation after he used a homophobic slur on-set last year, ABC Television Studio confirmed June 7 that Isaiah Washington's contract with Grey's Anatomy had not been renewed. (All other main cast members, including T.R. Knight, will return.) Washington quickly released a statement saying, "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore." (Yes, that's a reference to 1976's Network.) The drama continued the next day when his rep Howard Bragman told TVGuide.com the actor was still fuming: "[If] you went into counseling ... you did the PSA, you did everything that was asked of you, and then they still kick you in the gut? How would you feel?" (Bragman later told PEOPLE that Washington's PSA decrying hate speech was heartfelt.) But will Washington's career ever recover? Industry sources say the actor's already been approached by other networks. "It's not over," insists Bragman. "He will have his day in the sun."
THEY'RE PITCHER PERFECT
As baseball season heats up, it's time for peanuts, Cracker Jack and ... scores of celebrity photo ops. Three stars threw out the first pitch at recent MLB games. Who had the best form? Danny DeVito tops the rotation!
Katie Holmes loves cupcakes. Really. Loves them. In fact, before she left Shreveport, La.—where she'd been filming Mad Money—the actress, 28, ordered eight dozen from Cush's Grocery and Market. A rep for the bakery tells Scoop, "She wanted some cupcakes for the road." A look at her favorite sweet spots:

Holmes confessed in 2005 that she struggled to limit herself to one treat per week from Billy's Bakery in N.Y.C. (billysbakerynyc.com)
Holmes was such a good customer at Cush's, they sent her customized cupcake-themed stationery. (cushsgrocerandmarket.lbu.com)
Who's the daddy? Two months after Melanie Brown gave birth to daughter Angel, her ex, Eddie Murphy, finally took a DNA paternity test on June 11 in Beverly Hills, sources say. (The ex Spice Girl, 32, has insisted Murphy, 46, is the father.) "Eddie came in [to the medical facility] half an hour after Mel B. and the baby," says a source. "They didn't want to run into each other." Results could take anywhere from five days to three weeks.
After a rough year—his divorce from Heather Locklear became final, he split with Denise Richards and lost his dad to cancer—Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora, 47, entered an L.A. treatment facility June 6. (Sources say alcohol is to blame.) Pulling for him? His ex-wife and their daughter Ava, 9. "Heather really cares for Richie," says a pal. "He's a wonderful father."
Jennifer Garner—coming soon to a drugstore near you? The famously fresh-faced actress (and wife of Ben Affleck) just signed on to be a spokeswoman for Neutrogena. "It was something I always used growing up," says Garner, 35. "So I don't feel fake talking about it." She shared some face time with Scoop during the June 8 filming of her first commercial:
ON HER INSECURITIES
"Sometimes I see [my picture on a billboard] and I get really excited, because I'm excited about whatever I worked on. But sometimes I'm just hyper-critical and think, 'Why is my nose that big?!'"
ON HER BEAUTY ROUTINE
"I brush my teeth, grab a ponytail holder and go. At some point in the day, I will shower, put on some makeup. In the middle of the day, I get it together."
ON WHEN DAUGHTER VIOLET WILL BE ALLOWED TO USE MAKEUP
"I'm not there yet. She's just a year and a half! She's only at the point of throwing things in the toilet."
Back from the Dead
When faced with the option to surrender his town on the season finale of Jericho, Skeet Ulrich's character responded, "Nuts." That's what fans said too when CBS didn't renew Jericho for a second season: They shipped 20 tons of peanuts to network execs as part of an Internet campaign to save the show. Even more nutty? It worked! On June 6 CBS announced it will bring back the post-Apocalyptic series for seven episodes. "I don't think I've fully processed it," Ulrich, 37, tells Scoop. "There's nothing I could do to thank the fans enough."
TWICE AS NICE
It's a boy—and a girl! At a charity event June 9, proud papa-to-be Dennis Quaid, 53, announced that he and wife Kimberly, 35, are having one son and one daughter. Due around Thanksgiving, the twins will be born to a gestational carrier (a woman who carries a fetus conceived by the parents' own egg and sperm). "I've wanted more kids for a long, long time; I like the commotion," the actor told PEOPLE at the 5th Annual Dennis Quaid Charity Weekend in Austin. "I'm over the moon."
Q & A
Sharon's Got Talent
America's Got Talent's new star rates her fellow judges, American Idol and ... Elisabeth Hasselbeck!
Her foul-mouthed charm was such a hit on MTV's The Osbournes, it led to her own short-lived talk show. Now Sharon Osbourne, 54—who still manages her rocker husband, Ozzy—takes her famously frank ways to NBC's America's Got Talent. She talks to PEOPLE's Mark Dagostino.
Had you ever seen America's Got Talent?
Ozzy and I became addicted on the tour bus last year. We were flicking through channels and got hooked.
Is there a type of talent you'd like to see win?
Something besides singing. A magician would be fantastic. That's why I like the show: It's not just one person after another warbling a Mariah Carey song. How many of those [Idol-like] shows do we have to suffer?
Do you get along with the Talent judges?
David [Hasselhoff] is okay. He's fun to work with. But Piers [Morgan] is just a bombastic British prat.
As an ex talk show host, thoughts on The View's Rosie O'Donnell-Elisabeth Hasselbeck feud?
Elisabeth needs a lobotomy! How can she defend the Bush Administration? Being pregnant doesn't [screw] with your head that much.
Is it true that you've sworn off plastic surgery?
I'm done with it! After the last [procedure], I was in great pain. I was like, "What the hell am I doing?" I've put my body through a lot. It's time to stop.
