Stepping into an advanced hip-hop class at L.A.'s Millennium Dance Complex on March 23, Britney Spears—in nude fishnet stockings, black hot pants, long-sleeved shirt, dance boots and her favorite brown wig under a baseball cap—"basically lit up the room," says instructor Darrien Henning. Taking a spot in the back of the 30 or so other students, the singer "nailed" the difficult choreography, says Henning. "She was right on it. On it!" With her kids in their dad Kevin Federline's care (see box), Spears, 25, looking slim and refreshed since completing her 30-day stay at Malibu's Promises treatment facility on March 20, has been shopping, dining out with friends, sampling dance classes and generally getting her groove back in low-key style. Says Spears family friend Dr. Phil McGraw: "We're going to see a turn for the better here."
