Olympic Moguls Ski Champ Jonny Moseley Says 'I Do' in the Rocky Mountains
Sure, Jonny Moseley shed a tear during the '98 Olympics, when the gold went around his neck. But feeling platinum around his finger? No comparison. "I cried through the whole ceremony," the freestyle skier says of his March 25 wedding to Malia Rich. "I was a total mess—my uncle changed my nickname from Turkey to Softie." After saying their vows at St. Patrick's Parish in the ski town of Telluride, Colo., the couple joined 130 guests at the lodge-style Allred's restaurant at the top of the mountain for dinner, dancing—and no more tears. "He held it together for the rest of the night," says Rich, 29, who first met Moseley, 30, when they were in high school and is now his business manager. The newlyweds, who live in Tiburon, Calif., took a two-day getaway to Mexico but plan to take a longer honeymoon in South Africa next winter, after Moseley, who has hosted reality shows on MTV, gets his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley. Meanwhile, they're still feeling the glow from their wedding. "It was a profound and meaningful day," says Rich. Adds her husband: "More powerful than I could have imagined."
