Milla Jovovich, 31, will welcome her first child with her fiancé, filmmaker Paul Anderson, 42, this fall. The couple met six years ago when Anderson directed the actress in the 2002 action-thriller Resident Evil.
Bollywood stars Aishwarya Rai (Bride & Prejudice), 33, and Abhishek Bachchan, 31, tied the knot in a traditional Indian ceremony in Mumbai on April 20. The pair made grand entrances with the groom arriving on a white horse to greet his bride, who was carried Cleopatra-style in a palanquin while wearing a red silk sari and diamonds in her hair. More than 100 guests attended the nuptials, conducted by 11 Hindu priests and capping a three-day celebration.
British singer Amy Winehouse, 23, is set to wed Blake Fielder-Civil, 23, a music-video assistant, who proposed with a diamond ring from Tiffany. The couple first began dating two years ago and split but recently resumed their courtship. "I'm a very lucky girl to have found someone I love a lot," Winehouse told Britain's The Sun.
Comedian Chris Rock (inset), 42, has asked a court to determine if he fathered a teenage boy, according to papers filed April 16 in Bulloch County, Ga. Rock has offered to "contribute to the support, maintenance and education" of Kali Bowyer's son Jordan, 13, if proved to be his father. Rock and wife Malaak, 37, wed in 1996 and have two daughters, Lola, 4, and Zahra, 2.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers, 29, who plays Henry VIII on Showtime's The Tudors, has entered alcohol rehab. "He felt a break was needed to maintain his recovery," his rep tells PEOPLE.
Superpowers? Hulk star Eric Bana, 38, emerged unscathed from a crash during a racing event in Australia on April 21. The longtime motor-sport competitor and codriver Tony Ramunno, also unharmed, veered off course in Bana's 1974 Ford XB coupe during the Targa Tasmania rally. "We had been having a great day until then," Bana told the Associated Press.
Author and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Halberstam, 73, died after suffering massive internal injuries in a three-car accident in Menlo Park, Calif., on April 23. (The New York City-based Halberstam was on his way to an interview.) At 30, he won a Pulitzer for his New York Times coverage of the Vietnam War. His 1972 work The Best and the Brightest is widely regarded as the definitive book on the war's beginnings.... Broadway and film veteran Kitty Carlisle Hart, 96—whose most famous role came in the 1935 Marx Brothers film A Night at the Opera—died of pneumonia at her New York City home on April 17.
The life of former PEOPLE correspondent Julia Campbell, 40, was cut tragically short this month in the Philippines, where she had been teaching English to children as a Peace Corps volunteer. (Her body was found in a shallow grave on April 18; the case is currently under investigation.) Liz McNeil, PEOPLE's East Coast news editor, says of her former colleague, "She liked nothing better than to immerse herself completely into new worlds. She wanted to make a difference. And she did."
