MARCIA CROSS

"It seems like Marcia Cross has found true happiness with her husband and their double blessing!" Sharon Kelly, Safety Harbor, Fla.

As a new mom myself, I'm happy for Marcia Cross and her husband, Tom Mahoney, on the birth of their sweet, healthy twin girls. Marcia's desire to be a mother and her attitude about parenting is truly uplifting.

How wonderful to see Marcia Cross with her beautiful daughters on your cover. She looks great and I can't wait to see her back on Desperate Housewives.

I would like to applaud PEOPLE for inserting the box on the facts about "Fertility after 40" in the article on Marcia Cross's adorable twin girls. I put off marriage and pregnancy until I was 41, then spent the next three years going through extensive fertility treatments until the money ran out. Women who are thinking of delaying pregnancy should understand the reality: Successful pregnancies after 40 are not the norm.

STEVEN SLOAN

It was a great experience to read about Steven Sloan's 22-year contribution to the students at the New York City primary school. Steven may be blind, but he certainly sees life in its fullest not only for himself but also for the thousands of children he has mentored during his 22 years of teaching. If only more people saw life as he does.

GARY ALLEN

It takes real strength for anyone who has lost someone to suicide to talk about it, let alone sing about it on tour. Gary Allen's strength and perseverance will help others in the battle against grief after losing someone to suicide.

My heart goes out to country singer Gary Allen for the loss of his wife. But I wonder if things might have turned out a bit differently if he had not chosen to keep "a gun safe underneath the bed." A home is never safe with a gun in it, and neither are those we love.

KNUT THE POLAR BEAR CUB

I know Knut is adorable. I understand he had a rocky start in life. But "cutest animal alive"? Have you seen Mei Lan, the baby giant panda at Zoo Atlanta? Check her out at www.zooatlanta.org.

REESE WITHERSPOON

How refreshing to read about a Hollywood single mom who is devoted to her children, wants to stay home with them and actually takes them to church. She has always been a class act in her appearance and her behavior. Other single young moms in Hollywood could take a lesson from her.

EZRA AT THE ZOO

Readers were touched by PEOPLE writer Tom Fields-Meyer's poignant account of his autistic son Ezra and the boy's special connection with animals at the Los Angeles Zoo. "The beauty, eloquence and love with which this article was written moved me to tears," writes Mary Paredes Karnes of Glastonbury, Conn. "What a lucky little boy Ezra is to have such a father." Many correspondents also have autistic children and were grateful to read about a family in a similar situation. "I started the article and cried from beginning to end because I knew exactly what the dad was describing," writes Courtney Sydnor of Medina, Tenn. "I, too, have an 11-year-old son with a diagnosis of high functioning autism. Thanks for getting the word out that children with HFA are awesome people with amazing brains and neat personalities—and for reminding parents like me that we are not alone."
