Winter has barely begun, and you already can't carve a turn without running into a celeb in Aspen. Robert De Niro, Jerry Seinfeld and Jennifer Lopez have been spotted lately in the Colorado ski town, joining homeowners such as Jack Nicholson. One reason: "We've had the best early snow here since before Thanksgiving," says Aspen magazine editor Janet O'Grady. Once they slip off their skis, stars snap up steak frites at the slopeside Ajax Tavern, hit the Belly Up club for performances from Seal and Jimmy Buffett or unwind at the Hotel Jerome's laid-back J Bar. Says an Aspen local: "Celebs like the freedom."
