"I found everyone's stories so motivating I read them twice. I'll see you in next year's 'fit, fabulous and fortysomething' article!"

Congratulations to all your featured "losers." These incredible men and women have summed up the feelings of each and every one of us before and, more importantly, after the weight-loss journey.
Terre Haute, Ind.
Thank you for your cover story. Just like the people you featured, I have lost over 100 lbs. without gimmicks, pills or surgery. In January 2005 I weighed 320 lbs. Two years later, after I decided to eat right and exercise, I've lost 100 lbs. It took a lot of effort, but it also made me feel great and improved my self-esteem. Not only did I lose weight; I have my first serious girlfriend in all my 24 years. I would like to thank my family and friends for helping make me the person I am now.
I'm sorry, I do not care how much more muscle weighs than fat; there is no way Ethelyn Abellanosa is a size 8. Like her, I too stand 5'7". I consider myself fairly fit, and I outweigh her by only 4 lbs. However, I'm a size 12 or 14 on my thinnest days. Is it that Ms. Abellanosa has really small bones?

I'd like to head off some comments that are no doubt coming your way regarding how a person can't be a size 8 and still weigh 158 lbs. There are many variables at play when it comes to how much a person weighs and what size they wear. There is, for example, bone structure, reconstructive surgery, the cut of their pants and where they bought them. Clothing sizes and weight aren't the same for everybody.
ROSIE VS. TRUMP
Donald Trump may have been down a time or two, but he's never been out. He is a self-made man who has proved that time and again. I don't understand Rosie O'Donnell's issue with Miss USA. Was she in the running and I missed it? Moral compass? Mine points to Mr. Trump.
Hasn't Donald Trump ever heard the saying "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"? Regardless of people's opinions of Rosie, Trump's negative barrage speaks volumes about his character. The more he talks, the more people hear that he is a man filled with negative emotions.

BRAD AND ANGELINA
While I have a newfound respect for all Angelina Jolie does for charity, I find it out of place for her to stay at a posh resort with a personal chef after campaigning for the indigent. It's like going to a soup kitchen to serve the poor and then going home to steak and lobster.
Our story on the death of President Gerald R. Ford drew many letters from those wishing to pay their respects. "Rarely have I been more proud to be a native Michigander than during the funeral for President Ford," writes Marianne Burrows of Visalia, Calif. "If the measure of a man is his children, he and Betty should be proud indeed." Some readers felt Ford's death deserved more prominence. "I am disappointed that Gerald Ford's death did not appear on the cover," writes Janelle Bundas of Chicago. "While I respect Angelina Jolie's humanitarian work, I believe a former President's death should eclipse a story you report on virtually every week."
Corrections: In our Jan. 8 issue we stated that Jon Bon Jovi designs Rock Star Baby jewelry. The designer is Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres. We also incorrectly reported ages for Christy Turlington, Diane Keaton and Taye Diggs. They are 37, 61 and 35, respectively.
