David Hasselhoff is always looking to push his career to new heights–but he does have limits. For his three-month run as cross-dressing director Roger DeBris in a Las Vegas production of the Broadway musical The Producers, Hasselhoff sports a red wig, a 35-lb. beaded gown and a pair of 2-in. pumps. "They wanted 3-in. heels," says the former Knight Rider star. "But I said, 'No, guys. I'll fall over like a giraffe.'" With jewelry, size wasn't an issue: "I wanted bigger earrings. If I'm going down, I'm going down in a blaze of glory," says Hasselhoff, 54, who is also working on a CD with composer Frank Wildhorn. Backstage, Hasselhoff emphasizes his macho side: His dressing room has a putting green, a Knight Rider lunchbox and a life-size Baywatch cutout. "I must be the most self-indulgent person to have this stuff," he says. "But I've gotta market the Hoff."
