John Zimmerman
Age: 32 Hometown: Birmingham, Ala. Latest Gig: Competing on Fox's Skating with Celebrities
Ice Storm: A three-time U.S. pairs skating champion and 2002 Olympian, Zimmerman took to the rink at 4 but says it wasn't easy "growing up in Alabama, wearing goofy [costumes] and doing pirouettes. Even my best friends would razz me."
Mixed Doubles: On Skating, Zimmerman is paired with FOX NFL Sunday's Jillian Barberie. "I have to rein her in," he says. "Which is good, in a way." Meanwhile, he's been fretting over his wife, figure skater Silvia Fontana, 29, who injured her hip before heading off to the Torino Games as part of the Italian team. Though she's fine now, "I'd rather skate myself," says her nervous spouse, "than watch her compete."
Harsh Reality: Zimmerman appeared on Queer Eye in 2004. (His one caveat? No cutting his hair.) Now he and Fontana "are dying," he says, to be on CBS's The Amazing Race. "It would be cool to get two Olympians competing."
