"I think it's my age," said Arkin, 72, of winning. "Everybody thinks I'm going to keel over in a year or two." And speaking of age, he told reporters preshow he hoped 10-year-old Little Miss Sunshine costar Abigail Breslin wouldn't pick up an Oscar. "She is a kid; she needs to have a childhood," he said.
"I can't believe this," said this year's Best Supporting Actress after winning for Dreamgirls.
