Publishers are bidding from $1 million to $2 million for the rights to a book by Christopher Reeve that would chronicle his recovery from the broken neck he sustained in a riding accident last May. Paralyzed though he is from the shoulders down, Reeve is contemplating doing the project with a ghostwriter, who is yet to be determined....
As if Planet Hollywood celebrity partners Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Demi Moore and Sylvester Stallone aren't rich enough, now comes word that they may get richer when their 28-restaurant chain goes public in the not-too-distant future. A stock offering could be a financial bonanza for the actors, who each have a large stake in the company, not to mention the theme restaurant's majority owners, producer Keith Barish (The Fugitive) and his partner, businessman Robert Earl....
Meanwhile, Moore remains the highest-paid female star in history—she'll take home $10 million to $12 million playing the lead in G.I. And finally, had you been in the Sun Valley area of L.A. recently, you might have thought you were witnessing an Elvis sighting. But that wasn't the King singing on San Fernando Road in front of the Pink Motel. It was none other than Cher, clad in a black leather Elvis getup and filming her new music video "Walking in Memphis," a song about Elvis for her forthcoming album It's a Man's World, due out in early 1996.
