Frasier's Mercedes Ruehl (above, center) sat out the slap-happy antics of seatmates Goldie Hawn (left) and Liza Minnelli at designer Donna Karan's spring fashion show in New York City. A big-haired Julia Roberts, meanwhile, curled up for a chat with her Ready to Wear costar Tim Robbins (in cap, at right) at Todd Oldham's show.
Thigh-roller Princess Diana showed off her iron-pumped quads during an afternoon of in-line skating in Kensington Gardens, a public park in London. Afterward the Princess of Wheels cooled down with a little well-earned bench pressing (right). Diana's mania for fitness, and its obvious payoff, has recently earned her the nickname Her Royal Flyness in the British press.
Seinfeld's Michael Richards brought his daughter Sophia, 20 (from his marriage to family therapist Cathleen Richards), to see a Los Angeles stage production of Death of a Salesman. The show stars Richard Herd, who plays George's boss on Seinfeld.
Although never a Boy Scout, John Travolta (right) was presented with a Distinguished Citizen and Good Scout Award by ex-Girl Scout Kirstie Alley and Troop 555's scout Michael Sauer at an L.A. fete.
Some celebs would rather go naked than wear fur, but Today's, Katie Couric cozied up with a kinkajou at a Manhattan benefit for Safari Planet Earth, an environmental group. Her second baby is due Jan. 9.
Kathleen Turner wailed away an evening singing with The Suits, a rock band led by her hubby, businessman Jay Weiss, at Manhattan's Harley Davidson Cafe. Her Broadway show, Indiscretions, closed a week ago.
A star is born: Well, some of them come from large columns of molecular hydrogen gas—like the ones captured in this just-released NASA photo taken by the Hubble Space Telescope.
