Even in a world of 500 TV channels, when everyone is indeed famous for 15 minutes (or less), there are those whose renown has a kind of, well, longevity. Though they may fade, even disappear, from public view, their names still hold the power to startle, enthrall. What could people as diverse as Blue Lagoon star Christopher Atkins, Claus von Bulow's mistress Andrea Reynolds, would-be First Lady Kitty Dukakis and neglected child Gregory K. have in common? At one point in their lives, they became part of ours. Some, like Welcome Back, Kotter's Gabe Kaplan, exited gracefully. Others, such as 70s teen idol Leif Garrett, soared, then fell.
