HAVEN'T I SEEN YOU ON ER?

Rosemary' Clooney says Demi-Centennial was a particularly special project because "I chose songs for what they meant to me, songs that represented signposts in my life." Thus she included "There Will Never Be Another You," the favorite song of her former husband, the late actor José Ferrer, and "Falling in Love Again," as homage to her friend Marlene Dietrich. When Gabriel, the third of Ms. Clooney's five children, was born, "he weighed only four pounds," she says, "and Marlene was filming Witness for the Prosecution. She'd come right to the hospital from the set. She was wonderful to me."

That Rosemary, 66, has ceased to be the only famous Clooney is fine by her. The new celebrity is her nephew George, one of the stars, just coincidentally of course, of her favorite show, ER. (He plays the hunky Dr. Douglas Ross.) "I don't give George advice, but he tells me I've helped him," she says. "He recently did an interview where he said, 'My aunt was on the cover of TIME, and a few years later she was singing at a Holiday Inn, so I know it's not there forever.' "

George's fame, evanescent though it may prove to be, has paid off for Rosemary. She recently appeared on two ER episodes as a woman afflicted with Alzheimer's. "I hope they'll have me on again," says Clooney, who notes with pride a fan letter from Steven Spielberg. "He said I was a wonderful actress. Right now," she adds with a smile, "I'm sitting by the phone hoping he'll call with a part."
