The four-year relationship between Jack Nicholson and actress Rebecca Broussard is over. And now the word is that Broussard has begun seeing an actor (younger than Jack) whom she met at a Hollywood party. She did this, one source speculates, as a reaction to Nicholson's unwillingness to marry her. Broussard and the two children she had with Nicholson continue to live in the house he bought for them not far from his own Los Angeles digs. The same source says that at the moment everyone around the estranged couple is "walking on eggshells."
LISA BONET GETS SERIOUS ABOUT HER YOGA
Lisa Bond has a new man in her life. He's Brian Kest, an L.A. yoga instructor. Bonet's spokesman confirms that the 24-year-old actress and Kest, are living together in Beverly Hills and that Bonet's divorce from singer Lenny Kravitz is now final. Zoe, the nearly 4-year-old daughter she had with Kravitz, lives with Bonet and Kest.
ELTON JOHN WANTS A CHANCE TO TELL ALL
Elton John has engaged agent Irving "Swifty" Lazar to sound out publishers about an autobiography of the rock star. "I have to see what the traffic is like," says Lazar, who adds that while he has submitted no formal book proposals, the response thus far from publishers "has been very positive." The star's strongest selling points: frank talk about his drug and alcohol use, bulimia, coming to terms with his homosexuality, and—perhaps the only category new to the celeb tell-all—his hair weave.
WHAT'S IN A NAME...
Deborah Norville was listed recently as Deborah Norville Wellner on an invitation to an Alzheimer's Association benefit. OK, so the former Today show cohost is married to Karl Wellner, an auction-house executive, but when did she start using her married name? Only for non-TV stuff, according to a source close to Norville, who says the newswoman is not changing her name professionally. She will still be Deborah Norville when she debuts on CBS' Street Stories.
AXL ROSE OUGHTA BE IN PICTURES—SOMEDAY
Recent reports in Hollywood trade papers and elsewhere made it sound as if rocker Axl Rose wanted to make that great leap from concert stage to acting in movies. Not true—with a qualifier—says Rose's spokesperson. "Philosophically, Axl is intrigued" by the idea of becoming an actor, says the rep, "but practically speaking, it's very far down the road." Rose doesn't even have a movie agent, according to the rep, though this hasn't prevented unsolicited scripts with "bad-guy rock person" parts meant for Axl from piling up at the Guns N' Roses office in L.A. Adds the rep: "Axl hasn't read any of them."
