BUSINESS 101, FEATURING IVANA

If you attended a lecture by Ivana Trump, what topics would you most want her to cover? The breakup of her marriage to Donald Trump? Donald's relationship with Maria Maples? Donald's financial hard times? If you said yes to any of the above, boy, are you going to be disappointed.

Ivana, recently signed as a lecturer by the William Morris Agency, has chosen as her main topic "Big Corporate Business in America."

According to her agent, Robert Gottlieb, Ivana will not discuss the juicier aspects of her recent past because "that part of her life is now behind her."

No itinerary has been set, but Gottlieb says Ivana has accepted her first speaking engagement, for "a major company in the Midwest," and says she's considering a second gig in Florida. William Morris won't discuss Ivana's lecture fee.

BATMAN II: MISSING MISS VALE

The cast for the Batman sequel is beginning to come together, with Michael Keaton reprising his role as the Caped Crusader and Danny DeVito set to play the Bat Guy's archenemy, the Penguin. And Annette Bening, up for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for The Grifters, is negotiating with Warner Bros. to join Keaton and DeVito as the Catwoman.

One character who won't be back from the 1989 original is Vicky Vale, the love interest played by Kim Basinger. Was Basinger's potential fee to do the sequel too high for the studio's taste? Or is it that she is now perceived in Hollywood as being "difficult"?

The answer, according to someone close to the production, is neither of the above. "There was nothing controversial in the decision not to bring her back," says the source. "Aside from Keaton, the only returning character we know of now is Alfred, the valet [Michael Gough]. The attempt this time is to do a fresh film, not a sequel."

One other returning character, of course, is director Tim Burton. Shooting begins this summer.

JORDAN KNIGHT STEPS OUT

Just because singer Elisa Fiorillo's last single, "On the Way Up," was cowritten by Prince, who also has written and produced her latest single, "Oooh This I Need," doesn't mean she's yet another Prince "protégée."

One reason, perhaps, is that lately her mind has been occupied with thoughts of Jordan Knight, of New Kids on the Block. On Feb. 28, the 20-year-old Knight celebrated Fiorillo's 22nd birthday with her at the trendy Ivy restaurant in L.A.

Since then, a source close to Fiorillo informs us. Knight has called the sultry singer "numerous times" from the road.

JODIE FOSTER: THE SILENCE OF AVOIDING LAMB

The entrée at a fancy luncheon for Jodie Foster, which was part of a salute to the actress and a retrospective of her films sponsored by the Walker Arts Center in Minneapolis? Lamb chops.

Not the smartest choice. In The Silence of the Lambs, her new hit movie, Foster's character was traumatized as a child by the slaughtering of lambs on a farm.

The owner of the 510, the upscale restaurant where the luncheon was held, later said the entree selection was an oversight, and "I felt terrible." Foster declined to comment about the meal, but a guest at the luncheon reports that Jodie "discreetly ignored" the lamb on her plate.
