How is it that a really cool actress can so consistently blow the chance to look totally hot? Time and again, Bateman, who left the NBC sitcom Men Behaving Badly in June, sabotages herself with an unflattering cut or the wrong accessory. The self-described "Agnes B. junkie," 31, is just "not putting a lot of thought" into what she puts on, offers MTV veejay Kennedy as a possible excuse for Bateman's slapdash style. "She'll kind of just wear what's there." Comedian Carol Leifer complains that Bateman "is inconsistent. Her look sways from Fiona Apple to Audrey Hepburn. You don't know what she's going to look like from one event to the next." At all of them, says shortstop Alex Rodriguez, "she could use a classier look."
