Stars have taken such a shine to Badgley Mischka's silver gown that it oughta go platinum. Sharon Stone (above) paired hers with some $502,000 worth of gems at a party for Van Cleef & Arpels jewelers in Paris last September. And at an L.A. gala celebrating the 30th anniversary of Star Trek in October, all that separated statuesque Entertainment Tonight's Julie Moran (center) from petite Jane Seymour (right) was six inches.

Everybody wanted the white stuff from Gucci. From left: Goldie Hawn wore hers to a Beverly Hills ball last September; Star Trek: The Next Generation actress Marina Sirtis sported hers at the 30th anniversary bash for the original show; and Melrose Place's Lisa Rinna chose hers for an L.A. benefit in October.

Clad in Isaac Mizrahi, model Cindy Crawford (above, left) and Frasier actress Jane Leeves weren't exactly the Spice Girls, but they really really really wanted to zigazig. Crawford attended the Kids' Choice Awards in April in L.A., while Leeves appeared at the SAG Awards in L.A. two months earlier.

Jennifer Tilly (left) and Susan Sarandon blossomed in Dolce & Gabbana at two premieres on two coasts. Tilly saw Evita in L.A. in December, while Sarandon turned out for Tin Cup in August '96 in Manhattan.

Gucci's Tom Ford must have been tickled that so many stars went to so many lengths to embrace his shiny brown tube dress. At a June benefit honoring the designer in Santa Monica, Rita Wilson (below, left) distinguished herself from Lori Petty (below, right) by sporting more hair and knee-high boots.

Clockwise from top left: Spice Girl Victoria Adams lived up to her nickname Posh Spice when she wore her Gucci to a Manhattan book-signing in April; NYPD Blue's Kim Delaney copped hers for the VH1 Honors in L.A. in April; Grosse Pointe Blank's Minnie Driver took her Ford for a spin to the movie's April L.A. premiere; and Love Jones's Nia Long went for the short version at June's Santa Monica tribute to the designer.

The many faces of Jean Paul Gaultier were on display when actress Heather-Elizabeth Parkhurst (below, left) filled out her dress at the Dante's Peak premiere in Universal City, Calif., in February, and Everyone Says I Love You's Natalie Portman (below, right) got lost in hers at the movie's New York City premiere in January.

Even their shoes were a perfect match when Party of Five actress Neve Campbell (right) donned a satin Valentino pant-suit for the August '96 Family Film Awards in L.A., and Sharon Stone (far right) wore hers two months later to a Lifetime Network event, also in L.A.

Once-grungy Courtney Love (right, at an L.A. premiere in May) and former Flygirl and Selena star Jennifer Lopez (far right, at L.A.'s Independent Spirit Awards in March) turned over a couple of new leaves in Prada.

Speed2 star, Sandra Bullock (far left, at the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards) and General Hospital's Vanessa Marcil (at the Daytime Emmys) shouldered their way through the crowds in strapless Todd Oldhams. Bullock shortened hers to mid-calf for a '50s effect and paired it with matching sandals.

Diana Ross (above, at an April awards ceremony in London) wasn't the only celebrity looking positively supreme in this striped Richard Tyler. Jane Leeves (far left) wore hers to the Golden Globes in L.A. last January, and 20/20 correspondent Deborah Roberts (with NBC weatherman-husband Al Roker) stepped out in hers in May at New York City's Daytime Emmy Awards.

Dolce & Gabbana hit the jackpot with three sets of cherries. From left: Isabella Rossellini picked a gown with a train for the Golden Globes; Elizabeth Hurley had a jubilee at a New York City benefit in October; and Rita Wilson wore a short alternative with matching coat to an L.A. fund-raiser last September.

It was no coincidence when actor-writer-director Billy Bob Thornton (left) and country singer Dwight Yoakam (below) showed up in the same Manuel jacket at L.A.'s Blockbuster Entertainment Awards just 13 days before the Oscars in March. The two rhinestone cowboys were hyping Thornton's Sling Blade, in which they both star.

Actress Tippi Hedren (top) is an animal activist—and a recycler. She so admired the Versace gown her daughter Melanie Griffith (left) wore to January's Golden Globes that when Hedren's Humane from Hollywood fund-raiser came around seven months later, she borrowed it. "I had to shorten it a little," says Hedren. "Melanie's 5'9". I'm only 5'4".
