Here's Proof That Some Stars Live in Parallel Universes
Calvin Klein's pale combo proved to be the coat and dress of choice for two of Hollywood's hottest stars. Gwyneth Paltrow (right) wore hers to the New York City premiere of Sliding Doors in April. A week later, Cameron Diaz (far right) donned hers for a Paris art opening.
Halston's Randolph Duke went blue for two with the strapless number picked by both Daisy Fuentes (below, at the American Music Awards in LA. in January) and ER's Gloria Reuben (below, right, at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in L.A. in March).
Glitterati Naomi Campbell (above, at the MTV Music Awards in New York City last summer) and Christine Baranski (left, at Manhattan's Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards in February) showed more than a glimmer of glamor in twin Versaces.
Titanic actress Frances Fisher (above) flexed her fashion muscles in an Armani gown at the film's L.A. premiere in December. The rhinestone-and-velvet dress also caught the eye of Mira Sorvino (left). She added a wrap and wore hers to TIME magazine's 75th-anniversary party at New York City's Radio City Music Hall in March.
The fake fur flew out of Betsey Johnson's store and onto the shoulders of four celebrities doing funky diva turns. Sabrina, the Teenage Witch star Melissa Joan Hart (left) was spellbinding at ABC's Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella premiere in L.A. in October; Julie Moran (below, left) was equally dashing at the Manhattan premiere of The Man in the Iron Mask in March; Brandy (below) looked dandy at November's CableACE Awards in L.A.; General Hospital's Vanessa Marcil (right) was un-peeling—uh, appealing—at the Soap Opera Digest Awards in L.A. in February.
Three stars put on Krizia's luminous sheath for three different awards ceremonies. The result? All parties went home with the silver. Frances Fisher (above) mined hers for an April humanitarian award dinner in LA.; Rita Moreno (above, right) got slinky with it at the American Film Institute Awards in LA. in February; and Jacqueline Bisset (right) added a dash of color for the Oscars in March.
Boogie Nights actress Julianne Moore (right, at a lunch for Oscar nominees in Beverly Hills in March) and Sigourney Weaver (far right, at the British Academy Awards in London in April) said it loud: They're in Prada and they're proud.
It must have been a royal embarrassment when Princess Caroline of Monaco (below) and Princess Ira von Furstenberg (below, right) showed up at Monaco's Bal de Rose in March in identical Chanel gowns.
A Actress Alfre Woodard (above) and supermodel Cheryl Tiegs (left) ordered double shots of a coffee-colored Badgley Mischka sprinkled with extra sugar. Woodard enjoyed hers at the Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills in January, and Tiegs savored hers in March at TIME magazine's 75th-anniversary party in Manhattan.
Deborah Norville (near right, on opening night of the American Ballet Theatre in May in Manhattan) and Susan Lucci (at the Daytime Emmy Awards in New York City four days later) took a springtime stroll in the garden of Escada.
Talk show host Larry King and his new bride, Shawn Southwick, were of one mind when they dressed for the L.A. premiere of Amistad in December. Shawn added the matching velvet pants.
It was T for two—T-shirts, that is—when the princesses Beatrice (below, left) and Eugenie, who almost always dress alike, paired off in matching Marks & Spencer jumpers for a July outing with their parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, in Surrey, England.
ER's Maria Belly, uh, that's Bello (top), wore Valentino to the Screen Actors Guild Awards in LA. in March. Celine Dion had an identical idea, flashing her style in Manhattan at the Time for Peace Awards last fall.
