Actor, comedian and producer Gary Morton, 74, who was married to Lucille Ball for nearly 28 years until her death in 1989, died on March 30 of lung cancer outside Palm Springs, Calif. Morton wed Lucy a year after she divorced Desi Arnaz and later oversaw the production of three of her TV series. He also had supporting roles in the films Lenny and Postcards from the Edge.
Injury
On March 30 buffed, butter-believing model Fabio got a goose bump—literally—when a Canada goose flew into his face while he was riding a roller-coaster in Williamsburg, Va. Fabio, 40, needed three stitches to close a bloody one-inch cut on the bridge of his nose. The bird was less lucky: It was killed.
Suing
Civil-rights pioneer Rosa Parks, 86, filed a lawsuit in Detroit on March 31 against OutKast, an Atlanta-based rap duo, demanding that her name be removed from their Grammy-nominated song entitled "Rosa Parks." Rappers Big Boi, 24, and Dre, 23, said that they only wanted to pay homage to her. But Parks's lawyer says the "vulgarity and profanity" in the lyrics is no honor....
On April 5 in Nashville, three daughters of the late Tammy Wynette filed a $50 million wrongful-death lawsuit against the singer's fifth husband, George Richey, 63, and her doctor, James Marsh, who turns 45 on April 14, for allegedly neglecting the country star's medical care and overmedicating her with narcotics.

Citing irreconcilable differences, actress lone Skye, 28, the daughter of '60s folk singer Donovan, filed for divorce on March 29 in L.A. from her husband of eight years, Adam Horovitz, 32, one-third of the rap group the Beastie Boys....
On April 6 in L.A., actress Carmen Electra, 27, filed for divorce from Dennis Rodman, the 37-year-old basketball star who recently signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. The couple, who wed in Las Vegas six months ago, have mutually agreed to end their marriage under "amicable circumstances," said their spokesman.
Medical Update
At the Santa Monica hospital where Johnny Carson, 73, recently underwent successful quadruple-bypass surgery, a spokeswoman reported on April 5 that the ex-talk show host is "ambulatory, there are no complications, and he'll probably go home sometime this week."

Latin crooner Julio Iglesias, 55, and his Dutch girlfriend, former model Miranda Rijnsburger, 33, welcomed a second baby boy, Rodrigo (7 lbs. 2 ozs.), on April 3 in Miami. The couple's first son, Michael, was born in September 1997. Iglesias has three children, ages 27, 26 and 23, from his marriage to ex-wife Isabel Preysler....

On March 19 the Georgia Supreme Court upheld the murder conviction of Andrew Cook, 24, who killed Michele Cartagena, 19, and Grant Hendrickson,22, in 1995. Cook's appeal argued that his confession—to his father, John Cook, 56, then an FBI agent—was inadmissible because he had not been read his rights.
