Don't be fooled, Diane. The 1 million more of us who have been tuning in to Good Morning America
since you joined the show last January are not only looking to you for your expertise and composure. Some of us also need a little fashion guidance as we fumble around for something to wear to the office. What with the demise of dress codes and the advent of casual Fridays, it could be a mad, mad corporate world out there. But you, at 53 and 5'9", show us what a real pro looks like. Designer Pamela Dennis calls you "a great role model." Star Wars
costumer Trisha Biggar labels you "a confident dresser." A.B.S chief Allen Schwartz says that you are "always in good taste." This is how every working woman would like to be described. Off duty, too, you are always "a beautiful classic lady," as Francine Taylor of The View
puts it. Keep up the good work, Diane. You are in your prime time.
1. Sawyer wore the white stuff to a benefit auction in New York City last February. Trisha Biggar calls her Armani suit "a very relaxed look for evening." Pamela Keogh gives her points for "willing to be sexy." And VH1's Roshum-ba says, "I love her in pale colors."
2. "A fitted suit can be so sexy," says Francine Taylor of the Calvin Klein Sawyer wore to a Manhattan party last fall. "And no blouse underneath—it's great." Pamela Keogh appreciates Sawyer's spare style: "She's a clean dresser. There's not a lot of jewelry to clutter up the suit." And an approving Pamela Dennis says, "She looks like a woman of the new millennium."
3. Sawyer sparkled in Armani at a Lincoln Center tribute to her husband, Mike Nichols, last May. "The dress is so classy," says Francine Taylor. "The shawl is beautiful and softens her look," says Trisha Biggar. And Allen Schwartz adds, "Great color. I love the neckline."
