After having heard voluntary testimony from Sean "Puffy" Combs, a grand jury in Manhattan indicted the 30-year-old rapper on Jan. 13 for possession of two illegal handguns as part of its inquiry into gunplay at a Times Square nightclub on Dec. 27 that wounded three patrons. Actress-singer Jennifer Lopez, 30, was not charged even though she shared the backseat with Combs, her boyfriend, during a chase after they fled the incident with a driver and a bodyguard. Cops found a stolen 9 mm pistol in the front seat and allege that another gun was thrown from the 1999 Lincoln Navigator during the pursuit. Combs, who remains free on $10,000 bail and has hired lawyer Johnnie Cochran to represent him, faces a penalty of up to 15 years in prison.
