Communication, exfoliation–why not put the two together? That was the brainstorm of sisters Sara, Allison and Jennifer Jaqua, who tapped the female Zeitgeist and $15,000 in borrowed cash three years ago to create the hot-selling Beauty Parlor Night Kit. Stuffed with such get-gorgeous goodies as mud masks and facial scrubs, plus invitations for six pals, the $35 kits supply everything for the ultimate girls' night in. "We wanted to create a product that helps women bond," says Sara, 37. The sisters have since added manicure kits and other products to their line, whose fans include Susan Sarandon, Pamela Anderson Lee and Oprah (who recently hailed the original kit on her show) and which has enriched the Jaquas to the tune of $5.5 million last year.

Growing up in Santa Barbara, Calif., the girls shared cosmetic tips instead of a TV. "We were always trying to entertain ourselves," says Sara. "We'd say, 'Let's do beauty parlor!' We'd put Dippity-Do on Allison's hair, use rollers and hair-spray...." Now neighbors in Santa Barbara, "We're best friends," says Allison, 39 and the sole single sister. Still, working together isn't always beautiful. "Let's just say," Jennifer, 40, admits, "there are lots of slammed doors"—plus joint therapy sessions.

Followed, no doubt, by a night of beauty bonding.
