Local TV news-woman Dina Ruiz Eastwood used her connections to swing an interview with husband Clint at the 3M Celebrity Challenge golf tourney in Pebble Beach, Calif. Eastwood and his partner John Elway finished in a tie for last among five teams at the charity event, which was won by Kevin Costner and Jerry Rice.
After keeping photographers waiting and holding up the screening for about a half hour while he was reportedly caught in traffic, Titanic star Leonardo DiCaprio turned up in a midnight hue for the Los Angeles premiere of his island drama The Beach.
Arriving at London's Heathrow Airport, spicy-hot pop princess Christina Aguilera flashed what every 19-year-old girl wants and needs for a transatlantic flight from New York City: a totally rad red personal CD player. The singer is up for two Grammys at the music awards ceremony on Feb. 23: best new artist and best female pop vocal performance for her hit single "Genie in a Bottle."
While in Rome, Sarah Ferguson kicked up her heels—and her hemline—with Mercedes Italian exec Eberhard Laur. The former Duchess of York got jiggy with it at the Smart Continental Project benefit for needy children, where she was the guest of honor. Sitting this particular dance out was Fergie's Italian companion, Count Gaddo della Gherardesca.
Slice of life: Stars of the hit horror sequel Scream 3 turned out for the premiere in L.A. Courteney Cox Arquette Arquette (above), who has appeared in all three films, signed for fans, while Liev Schreiber (below) and former Melrose Place actress Kelly Rutherford, who play lovers, couldn't escape each other's clutches.
Hey! Dad! D'ja see that? Watching the hometown L.A. Lakers beat the Utah Jazz from his usual courtside seat, Jack Nicholson wore his game face; son Raymond, 7, gave way to the spontaneity of youth.
Sir Paul McCartney (with daughter Mary, 30, a photographer) seemed to be thanking the Deity at the New Musical Express Premier Awards in London, where the Beatles were honored as best band ever. Accepting the award, McCartney said, "Thank you, John, George and Ringo—and thank you, God."
Ladies who launch: Oprah Winfrey and Candice Bergen took a breather at the premiere party for the Oxygen network in Manhattan. Bergen hosts a new talk show, Exhale; Winfrey, an Oxygen cofounder, hosts an Internet-related program, Oprah Goes Online. Winfrey said recently her goal was to take people "from low-tech limbo into high-tech heaven."
