Actor Hugh Grant Awakens to Find Life Is Like a Movie—Specifically, Notting Hill

The scene looked startlingly familiar to anyone who caught last year's hit film Notting Hill: hapless Hugh Grant squinting before a flashing mob of feral photographers on the doorstep of his West London residence. In the movie it was his romance with a Hollywood lovely (Julia Roberts) that attracted the clamoring cameramen; in real life it was his recent split from actress-model mate Elizabeth Hurley that drew a crowd. The irony was not lost on Grant, who noted dryly, "This is just like Notting Hill." Despite the announced separation, the pair, for now, still share their abode and attended a wedding together last week. If Hurley does find other digs, perhaps the born-again bachelor could reteam with his tighty-whitey-wearing roomie from the movie—Spike, the splendid Welshman.
