With the finale of Survivor: the Australian Outback set for May 3, fans are already hungry for the next installment. The first step, the application process, has just ended—more than 50,000 people sent in tapes—and production gets under way this summer. But the question is, where will the series take place? While host Jeff Probst revealed Survivor's Down Under location on the final episode of the first series, I hear there's talk at CBS of trying to keep the next locale a secret, at least until shooting is completed. That means media may not be invited to visit the site as they have in the past. Even so, the rumor du jour points to Kenya.
Mealtime on the set of Josie and the Pussycats didn't mean milk and tuna for stars Rachael Leigh Cook, Tara Reid and Rosario Dawson, thanks to Dawson's mom, Isabel. When she visited her 21-year-old daughter on location in Vancouver, she whipped up vegan lasagna to feed the three felines and lucky crew members. She also brought her culinary kindness to Dawson's upcoming movie Pluto Nash. The star of the outer-space caper, Eddie Murphy, couldn't get enough of Isabel's cooking. His fave: her fried chicken.
Demi Moore may have dropped out of Hollywood, but she hasn't left the stage. The Company of Fools, a theater troupe in Hailey, Idaho, where Moore and her children live, recently staged Side Man, a drama about jazz musicians, at the Liberty Theater. Moore designed the company's costumes but didn't list her name in the credits. Instead, she used her childhood nickname of "Topper."
Fast Takes: When Jennifer Love Hewitt publicly declared her devotion to the band Journey, the '80s rock balladeers sent their fan an autographed copy of their latest CD, Arrival. The actress, who threw a party at her L.A. home to celebrate VH1's Behind the Music special on the band, even sleeps in a vintage Journey T-shirt.... Hollywood actors might think twice about striking this summer after getting a look at Final Fantasy: the Spirits Within, an action-adventure film due in July. The computer-generated actors are so real-looking that Maxim magazine has selected the female lead, Dr. Aki Ross, who is voiced by Ming-Na, as the cover image for their 100 hottest women issue.
