The Practice's Camryn Manheim could have kissed NYPD Blue's Scott Cohen all day while filming their romantic comedy Kiss My Act, airing April 23 on ABC. "Trust me, I did as much as I could to mess up the take," says Manheim, 40. "We did it for hours. It was fabulous!" But she's already in love with a much younger guy: her 6-week-old son, whom she decided to name Milo after other contenders—Jacob, Sebastian and Dashiell, among them—failed her test. "I stood at the bottom of the stairs and screamed the names that I loved at the top. of my lungs," she says. "Milo was the best, because it has a vowel at the end and you can say it for longer: 'Miloooo, get your butt down here!' Dashiell just doesn't work."
From Oz to Awws
Manheim isn't the only proud new parent in Hollywood: Christopher Meloni became a father to Sophia Eva Pietra on March 23. "I feel as if I've been let into a secret society," says the costar of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and HBO's Oz. "It doesn't come with a secret handshake but with a very strange expression—this blank look of bliss. And the kid...oh, God, I'm in love." Unfortunately, it's a long-distance relationship for now. Meloni, 40, is filming Law & Order in New York City while his wife, Sherman, and Sophia are in Los Angeles. "Boy, it's tough," he says, his voice breaking. "You'll be doing a scene and going, 'Okay, this is important, and you gotta stay with it,' but you're really 3,000 miles away, thinking, 'Oh, I just want my girl.' It's crushing."
So, Who Wants to Marry a Multimillionaire?
Engineer Kevin Olmstead thought he would try to make a little extra money, so he went on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, ABC's hit show hosted by Regis Philbin. Instead, Olmstead wound up winning $2.18 million—one of the largest game-show jackpots in U.S. TV history—on the April 10 episode. "One guy took to calling me Stev, as in one-third of Steve Austin, The Six Million Dollar Man," says Olmstead, 42, who has returned home to Ann Arbor, Mich. "I have a number of good friends who are not letting my head get too big." Or his wallet get too small. "We suspect women will be coming out of the woodwork," says the unmarried Olmstead. "One suggestion was that I should tell them, let's see what happens after I give everything to charity!' I'll also be mumbling the phrase 'prenup.' "
The Good Son
Actress Carla Gugino hesitated when director Robert Rodriguez asked her to play a spy turned mother in the hit family 'flick Spy Kids. "I'm 29," says Gugino. "I said, 'I think I might be too young for this part.' He said, 'I had two kids by then, and my mom had five. I come from a family of 10, so you're not too young.' " Ultimately, her casting came about after Daryl Sahara, her screen son, teamed up with twin brother Evan (who plays Daryl's evil clone in Spy Kids and acted with Gugino in a TV movie last year) and lobbied Rodriguez to give her the part. "Now," Gugino says, "I owe Daryl and Evan 10 percent."
Let'Er Rip
Rip Tom's daughter Claire (mom is actress Amy Wright) is only 9, but she's already watching her dad's back. After discovering that Torn would be playing Tom Green's father in the new gross-out comedy Freddy Got Fingered, "she grabbed me and said, 'Dad, don't let those people let you do anything you'll be ashamed of;" says Torn. Still, Green persuaded her pop to drop his drawers for one scene, but Torn says he's not embarrassed about baring his backside at 70. "Nah, I think my bohunks stack up with the rest of Hollywood," he says. "With a name like Rip Torn, you need to have a little comedy going for you."
