Poor Jude Law. His spectacular face, he claims, limits the movie parts he's offered. "Whenever there is a role for a pretty boy, people quickly say, 'Okay, let's take Jude Law,' " the 28-year-old actor recently complained to German In Style. "I can really understand how women feel when they are rdduced to their outward appearance." But sometimes it is hard to get beyond appearances. When the 5'11" Law won the role of the pale, scrawny shepherd turned sniper in the World War II. drama Enemy at the Gates, "We had to work against his good looks," says Enemy executive producer Alisa Tager. "But Jude really got into the part. He lost weight for it and stayed out of the sun." It wasn't his method acting, though, that attracted Enemy director Jean-Jacques Annaud. When the men first met in a restaurant in London—near the home Law shares with his actress wife, Sadie Frost, 35, their two children and Frost's son from a previous marriage—"I was intensely magnetized, riveted," Annaud has recalled. Hey, Jude, being dashingly handsome isn't all bad.
