The credit for Heath Ledger's unkempt hair, says the 22-year-old actor, goes to his bed. "I always have bed head," he explains. "I don't do anything with my hair. I don't know what to do with it." Ledger says that he doesn't know what to do with a mirror, either, or a membership to a gym. And yet his lackadaisical approach to his looks hasn't turned off any of the female fans he has been attracting since starring in the 1999 teen flick 10 Things I Hate About You
—including his 31-year-old girlfriend Heather Graham, whom he started dating last summer while they were both working in Prague. Since wrapping The Patriot last winter, the 6'4" actor, who lives in L.A., has been on a back-to-back filming schedule, shooting his current movie, the medieval adventure A Knight's Tale, followed by the war drama Four Feathers, due this fall. Knight's producer Todd Black attributes Ledger's appeal to his roots Down Under: "Australian men are not afraid to show their masculinity—all the way through. Heath has a command of his voice and body that is unlike any other actor his age." Plus, says Black, "he's sweet to everyone. He has very good friends from when he was 3 years old, which says quite a bit about a person." With all that, who needs a hairdresser?
