Wrist Factors
A call to arms has gone out in Hollywood, and stars such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Capshaw and Lucy Liu have responded in force by donning dazzling diamond cuffs. The bold bracelets are "a power statement," says L.A. jewelry designer Ann Whatu, co-owner of the funky jewelry boutique Rafinity, who loaned Jennifer Lopez a 4-carat, $12,000 diamond cuff for last year's The Cell premiere. Plus they're "fun to wear," says The Producers star Cady Huffman, who shone at the Tony Awards in a 40-carat Harry Winston cuff. "It was big but not at all tacky, just beautiful." And empowering, adds Carol Brodie-Gelles, Harry Winston's managing director of communications. "Really strong women are in vogue now, and cuffs are a symbol of strength." Whatu agrees. "It's all in your attitude when you wear it," she says. "It can be under your sleeve—you know it's there, and when you lift up your hand, everyone gasps." Just make sure, advises Brodie-Gelles, that you're lifting weights as well. "If you have grandma arms, you should not wear diamond cuffs," she says. "They're for lean, mean arms."

Calvin Klein seems to be doing his part to keep the planet eco-friendly. He's recycling celebrity duds. The designer created a one-of-a-kind single-sleeved white pantsuit for Faith Hill to sport at the Pearl Harbor premiere in May. But when the pregnant country singer, who's due in January, told him she could no longer fit into the tailored suit, Klein didn't miss a beat: He retrieved the outfit from Hill and whisked it over to Mariel Hemingway, who donned the cool, gauzy number for the MTV Movie Awards. "It was fantastic," Mariel says. "They usually send me stuff in bigger sizes that I have to take in, but this fit perfectly. I guess nobody else is my size except Faith Hill."...

Over lunch at the Ivy in L.A., Natalie Cole would only hint at what she'll wear when she weds Rev. Kenneth Dupree this October. "The dress won't be white or off-white or even off-off-white," she says. "This is the third time I'm getting married. There will be nothing virginal about my wedding gown!"...

Add Jackie Chan to the growing list of actors working in the fashion biz. The action star backs two popular Asian labels, Blanc de Chine, an upscale collection, and the sportswear line Bleu de Chine. He already has a fan in Rush Hour 2 costar Chris Tucker, who donned a Blanc de Chine navy-blue silk suit for a press junket. "I got this from Jackie's shop in Hong Kong," Tucker says. "He had made me a suit and I liked it, so I got five of them."...

Seen: Geena Davis in cutesy braids brunching at a Hollywood cafe with fiancé Dr. Reza Jarrahy....Model Heidi Klum in '50s-style puffy-skirted black dress and boots, dining with a group including Sex and the City's Kyle MacLachlan at the Park eatery in Manhattan.

TRIPLE VISION
Three times a lady? That was the case for actress Julia Ormond, singer LeAnn Rimes and model Marisol Thomas, wife of Matchbox Twenty front man Rob, who all stepped out separately in identical Badgley Mischka dresses. "It's very ladylike," Thomas says of the pink, chevron-striped frock. As for her doppelgängers, "it would bother any woman if someone else wore the same dress to the same event," she says, "but you don't mind if they picked it for a different event."

presto change-o
Jennifer Love Hewitt recently dyed her dark tresses blonde. Why? For some summer fun, says her rep. L.A. hairstylist James Kendall of the Gamine salon believes she could have whooped it up further. "The hot look right now is a surfer-girl blonde, as if the sun lightened your hair," he says. "This is a little too Beverly Hills."

Diva Mariah Carey radiated bombshell beauty slinking into a recent Manhattan event in a crimson jersey-knit gown by Vera Wang. "Mariah leaves her torn jeans by the wayside," praises stylist Tom Julian. "I hope we'll see more of this look from her." We hope so too.

Neigh Sayers
Horses are the hot design of summer, with stars like ER's Emily Wagner, singer Nelly Furtado and Ana Maria of the band Eden's Crush mounting the craze first spurred by designer Stella McCartney at Chloé. Equine motifs are "vibrant and powerful," says Wagner. L.A. stylist Zita Tulyahikayo agrees, noting, "There's something about horses that says intelligence and freedom." And buyers don't have to spring for pricey Chloé originals. "Even Old Navy has its version of the [horse] pants for $14," says Tulyahikayo. "It's wonderful that even a 16-year-old can pick up on the trend."

Mirror, mirror on the wall, what's your favorite physical feature of all?

Andie MacDowell
"I've worked very hard on my stomach, and it looks great. I'm more proud of it now than before I had children."

George Hamilton
"I'd have to say my eyes. I'm always tan and that always makes my eyes stick out. The tan accentuates my eyes."

Boston Public's Loretta Devine
"I have great legs, but I never get to show them. When I'm being fashioned for something, I end up wearing long skirts."

Raquel Welch
"My back. A lot of people say my back and my shoulders are great. [Richard] Avedon said it for one, and Helmut Newton said it for another, so I believe them."

Joan Rivers
"No question about it—my breasts. But at this age I have to wear open-toed shoes to show them off."
