Actress Kim Stanley, who was nominated for an Oscar for her roles in Séance on a Wet Afternoon (1964) and Frances (1982), died of uterine cancer on Aug. 20 in Santa Fe. She was 76....

Soul singer Betty Everett, 61, best known for her 1964 hit "The Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss)," was found dead on Aug. 19 at her home in Beloit, Wis., of undisclosed causes.

Recuperating
TV producer Aaron Spelling (Beverly Hills, 90210), 78, underwent radiation treatment for a throat lesion in July in L.A. Spelling's publicist would not say whether the lesion was cancerous.

Survivor winner Richard Hatch, 40, was arrested and charged with domestic assault on Aug. 21. The Associated Press reported that Hatch allegedly pushed a former partner who tried to force his way into Hatch's Middletown, R.I., home. Hatch pleaded not guilty and was released on $1,000 bail....

Shock rocker Marilyn Manson, 32, was charged Aug. 16 with criminal sexual conduct after he allegedly assaulted security guard Joshua Keasler, 25, during a concert in Clarkston, Mich. If convicted, he could face up to two years in prison....

The estimated $1.6 billion estate of oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II, who died in 1995 at age 90, will not go to his third wife, model Anna Nicole Smith, 33. On Aug. 15, a Houston judge signed the final ruling in the lengthy, complicated case, which had pitted Smith against Marshall's younger son, E. Pierce Marshall, 62. She was ordered to pay $562,000 in legal fees....

An L.A. court tossed out a $5 million palimony suit against New York Yankees outfielder David Justice, 35, on Aug. 15. Nicole Foster, 26, the mother of his 20-month-old son David Jr., claimed Justice abused her and forced her out of the Cincinnati home they shared for two years....

Paula Jones, 34, who claimed former President Bill Clinton sexually harassed her in a Little Rock hotel room in 1991, filed suit against jailed parking-garage mogul Abe Hirschfeld, 81, on Aug. 15 in Manhattan. Jones says Hirschfeld reneged on an agreement to pay her $1 million if she settled her case against Clinton, which she did in 1998.
