Sean Stewart, 21, the son of rocker Rod Stewart and his ex-wife, actress Alana Stewart, was arrested on Dec. 5 for assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly attacked Jason Rogland, 19, outside a Malibu restaurant. Former Superman Dean Cain interceded and detained Stewart until police arrived. Stewart was released on $30,000 bail. No court date has been set.
On Dec. 5 a Manhattan jury convicted former Sotheby's chairman A. Alfred Taubman, 76, of conspiracy to violate antitrust laws in a price-fixing scam that cheated sellers out of as much as S400 million in commissions (People, Oct. 23, 2000). Taubman, who was charged with conspiring with the former chairman of rival auction house Christie's, faces up to three years in prison....
Comedian Paula Poundstone, 41, who pleaded no contest to child-endangerment charges earlier this year (PEOPLE, Sept. 10, 2001), was released from alcohol rehab on Dec. 5 after completing a 180-day sentence.
